University Health Services: Located
on the CMU campus in Foust Hall 200, UHS board-certified physicians and their
staff offer a variety of health care services for students, faculty and staff,
their spouses and other authorized users. The main office in Foust is open
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Among the services: allergy injections, flu shots,
immunizations, full pharmacy services and more. UHS also runs a clinic in the
Towers residence hall in Troutman 103 for student walk-in illnesses and

Howell Breast and Skin Surgical Services: Dr.
Sandra L. Howell, an assistant professor of general surgery, is a board-certified
general surgeon who specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant breast
diseases and skin services at 2981 Health Parkway in Mount Pleasant. Her
practice, a part of CMU Health, offers many services, including genetic
testing, routine and high-risk surveillance for breast cancer, in-office
ultrasound evaluations, minimally invasive breast biopsies, cryotherapy for
benign breast lesions, surgical treatment planning for breast cancer, including
breast conservation when appropriate, sentinel node biopsy, oncoplastic

Dr. Paul B. Simmons: A University of Michigan School of Medicine graduate with 45 years of experience and an assistant professor with the CMU College of Medicine, Simmons has worked out of McLaren Central Michigan in Mount Pleasant since 2004. Dr. Cara A. Poland: A board-certified physician in internal medicine, Dr. Poland attended medical school at Wayne State, and was trained in internal medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor and in addiction medicine at Boston Medical Center. She will bring both of her specialties to CMU Health and to the CMU College of Medicine as an assistant professor. She joined Dr. Paul Simmons' practice at 2891 Health Parkway in Mount Pleasant in 2013 and is accepting new patients. Office phone: 989-953-4002.
Dr. Karen Rathmann: Dr. Rathmann, an assistant professor of pediatrics with the CMU College of Medicine, joined CMU Health in 2013, and works as part of the Medical Arts Pediatrics team at 1201 South Dr., Suite 341 in Mount Pleasant (Office phone: 989-779-5270) and at McLaren-Central Michigan Hospital. She was a pediatric resident at Children's Hospital of Michigan at Wayne State University and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin.
