City of Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant offers various indoor and outdoor activities for visitors and residents to discover the city, including its 15 local parks and 80-mile-long Chippewa River. The city of Mount Pleasant offers information and resources for residents, businesses and visitors to engage with Central Michigan University's events, fundraisers and entertainment.

CMU Research Corp.

The nonprofit organization is focused on advancing economic development in the mid-Michigan community by leveraging the resources of Central Michigan University and its local, regional and statewide partners. The program strives to accelerate the success of entrepreneurs, growing businesses and jobs through hands-on expertise in market research, business consulting and facilitating connections.

Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce

In an effort to support a local vibrant economy, the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce keeps the community connected by offering details on events, dining, real estate, shopping and job postings.

Mount Pleasant Convention and Visitors Bureau

The organization provides information on community events and activities to keep the community involved.

Central Michigan University Public Broadcasting

Central Michigan University Public Broadcasting is one of the largest university-owned public broadcasting networks in the U.S., serving residents throughout Michigan and Ontario. Its five television stations and eight radio stations reach approximately 6 million people.

Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe encompasses the Saginaw, Black River and Swan Creek Ojibwe bands. The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and Central Michigan University have a strong historic and cooperative relationship that complements each entity's goals and encourages collaborative efforts to enhance the quality of life of citizens of the region. The partnership has fostered educational initiatives, cultural events and speakers, along with extensive Native American educational resources for the campus and tribal communities.

Union Township

Union Township is governed by a board of trustees, planning commission and a board of appeals to discuss and plan community issues, such as zoning regulations. The Great Lakes Institute for Sustainable Systems at Central Michigan University received a Michigan Department of Energy grant for students to conduct research on residential-scale wind turbines installed at Union Township Hall.

United Way of Isabella County

United Way of Isabella County provides leadership and resources to improve the quality of life in the community by generating revenue, creating awareness and engaging volunteers to support its programs and services. In the past five years, CMU faculty, staff and students have contributed more than $359,000 to United Way.

Special Olympics Michigan

Special Olympics of Michigan offers year-round recreational activities and events to nearly 20,000 children and adult athletes with intellectual disabilities who participate in its programs. Many Central Michigan University students, faculty and staff volunteer for the state summer games and help support funding for the event hosted on CMU's campus.
