Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law designed to protect the privacy of student education records. Generally, university officials are not allowed to share information concerning your son's/daughter's time on campus without their consent, unless we believe they have a health or safety emergency. Other exceptions apply as well, such as when the university receives a subpoena for their records. For more information concerning this regulation please see: http://www.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/fpco/ferpa/index.html
