Clarke Reference

The Reference Department provides patrons access to the library's wide range of primary and secondary resources. Those resources fall into three subject areas, as stated in the mission of the library: children's literature, the history of Michigan and the Old Northwest Territory, and the historical record of the University itself. Students, faculty, and staff, as well as outside scholars, the local community, and the public in general, make use of the Clarke Historical Library. The Clarke librarians offer these patrons reference services and bibliographic instruction to assist in their understanding of the library's diverse holdings.
